WEIGHT LOSS

The wish to lose weight is a very common one and whilst some lucky people have the ability to do so without assistance, more usually help is required. The majority of clients who come to see me for weight loss have already been on numerous diets and weight-loss plans without success. Such diets and plans, no matter how they are dressed up, all involve a period of calorie restriction where the client will naturally lose weight, but once the plan or diet is over they inevitably put the weight back on again.

The reason we put on weight is of course because we eat too much food compared to the amount of energy we use up by day-to-day living and exercise. Whilst increasing the amount of exercise we do may help with weight loss to some degree, and has other benefits, the main factor by far for achieving weight loss is the amount of food we eat.

For some people reducing the amount of food they eat is very difficult because their relationship with food is determined by the need to 'comfort eat' in order to deal with subconscious problems arising from past events or experiences. Eating can provide temporary comfort and a way of avoiding something which we find emotionally too hard to deal with.

People who want to lose weight but find it difficult to stop overeating are usually subconsciously compensating for something else. Hypnotherapy can help you identify what that thing is and then deal with it permanently.

The aim of hypnotherapy for weight loss is to make you feel confident about your body, and to change negative thoughts about eating in order to help you lose weight healthily. By targeting the subconscious mind with powerful suggestion techniques, I can help you to develop a positive relationship with food, which is vital to healthy weight loss and long-term weight management.
